Fall Fashion: Autumn trends to (pumpkin) spice up your wardrobe

While the typical fall colors still reign, there’s a couple new pieces you’ll want to work into this season’s wardrobe

Structured Bags

Wether it’s itty bitty or more user-friendly, look for a boxy bag this season.

Carry by the top handle for a #bossbabe look or add the crossbody to be hands free and care free.

My mini Michael Kors is right on trend and I’m in love with the color - but the size is not meant for everyday use. It barely holds my phone, a couple cards and a lipstick.

It seems like all the couture houses are designing their version while the fast fashion retailers have already made theirs.

Here’s a few options:

Also - if you’re a vintage vixen, this is your time to shine. Look for a structured silhouette from the 30s, 40s or 50s.

Plenty of Plaid

I got so many compliments on this dress after wearing it for my Freaky Friday haunted house tour on NTV News. I found it at Forever 21 for only $23. It’s still available online, here.

While the pattern may feel over-done each year, this season there’s a few new ways to wear it.

It’s time to kick the kilts to curb. This year it’s all about the jumpers and don’t worry, they’ve been upgraded from your elementary school uniform.

Pair it with a baby tee in the warmer September months then switch over to a mock neck body suit. Then as the temps keep dropping, add tights or those too-cute ruffle socks.

Sex it up with stilettos or rock it with Dr. Martins. Either way, this is an item you won’t regret wearing.

Another plaid worth noting -Masculine Menswear for the ladies. We saw it on the runways and it’s covering the pages of Vogue and In Style but that’s one trend I’m not seeing hitting the racks just yet.

Flared Jeans

I mentioned it last season, but it’s still holding strong and I’m not convinced y’all believed me. Flared jeans are here to stay and they’re doing great things for the legs.

Now, we’re adding color to the mix.

Pack those white jeans away and keep your eyes out for a rust colored flared denim or even look for a deep camel corduroy. This silhouette screams the seventies and ya might as well holla back.

Put an indigo pair with pointy toed pumps and a blouse for the office, then head to pumpkin patch by pairing the same jeans with a cute hat and lightweight, oversized sweater.
